NAMRATA
SHIRODKAR: ACTRESS
DIET: TEA and biscuits are what I begin my day with. I don’t have a very heavy breakfast, it’s mostly just a bowl of cereal. Lunch is also a simple meal with lots of vegetables and sprouts and one chicken or fish dish. I don’t eat pork and beef and avoid most red meats except lamb. Dinner is the most elaborate meal of the day. I make it a point to eat home-cooked food whenever I can. It’s healthy and cooked in minimal oil. It’s usually some curry with rice or rotis. I don’t avoid any particular food group. I love good food and try not to compromise on my diet.
EXERCISE: I PACK in a workout whenever I have the time, but my schedule is very erratic, so my regimen is not very regular. I don’t enjoy working out, but after I’ve finished, I feel great. I do cardio and very light weights. Since I don’t exercise too often, I try and balance it out with my eating habits—when I’m not working out I am very careful about what I eat and don’t binge. I also try to stay active in small ways that matter, like taking the stairs instead of the elevator.
PROBLEM AREAS: MY legs are my biggest problem. They’re not fat, but I would love to have a lean body, so that’s the part I have to concentrate on the most.
