ZAYED KHAN : ACTOR

How do you detoxify after all the year-end partying?
I party hard—that’s common knowledge. So post my New Year’s bash when the stomach tends to get acidic and my immunity drops, I get up and gulp some Alka Seltzer. The perfect hangover mix is a glassful of karela, tomato and beetroot juice. Glug and get ready to party again.

DIET: I KEEP a watch on my height to weight ratio and so I pile up on the proteins—that’s 160 gm on a daily basis. I start my day with a good breakfast—egg whites, toast, a bowl of papaya, vitamin tablets. I mix and match these. For lunch I eat stew, a bowl of boiled chicken with four rotis. Dinner’s lighter—a bowl of salad and maybe some chicken again. I have my protein supplement, Myoplex, before my workouts.

EXERCISE ROUTINE: I DON’T go overboard with my sessions. Two hours of cardio and weights under the supervision of my personal trainer. When I was younger, I had a tendency to lose weight so I have to be careful that my workouts are regimented. On outdoor shoots, I make it a point to work out at the hotel gym.

PROBLEM AREAS: I’M QUITE blessed. My muscles have immense reserve energy—that’s muscle memory—so even if I don’t work out for ten days at a stretch, it really doesn’t affect my body.
